Healing Words

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24

Today is my cousin Kim's birthday. She and I have this thing, we don't get to talk often at all, but we always try to call each other on our birthdays. This morning I was dreading calling her. You see her husband is very ill with cancer. I didn't want to hear more bad news about Dave's health. I'm not good with words and I never know what to say. Still I wanted her to know that I love and I'm thinking about and praying for her family. And I truly want her to have a happy birthday. Anyhoo, I dialed the number to the bank where she works. It only rang once and then I heard the most cheerful voice say " Good morning this is ___ ___ Bank, Kim speaking". Her voice was so pleasant and bubbly. I wished her happy birthday and then asked about Dave. She had positive things to say about how he was feeling and even said she was going to try to get him out to visit us before Christmas. I so admire her positive attitude. If you stumble across my blog, please take a moment to pray for Kim, Dave and their son Mark. I will pray God's Word and pray that her pleasant words will heal her husband. Our God is an AWESOME God and if it be His will Dave can be healed in this manner because this is God's Word. I hope you all have a great day and remember to use pleasant words and heal someone today!!!

Love in Christ,
Dana

Great week in the Lord

It's Friday again. I'm not keeping my end of the bargain as far as trying to post daily. It's been a week since my last one. But what a good week it has been. I've been active in the Bible study and re-reading my notebook. I've not opened any websites from my homepage all week!! I've only watched the news to get the weather. I must admit, I slipped a little when the Wal-Mart sale bill came in the mail the other day. I scanned its pages and began to imagine all the things I NEEDED. But I quickly came to my senses and realized what I was slipping into again and threw it into the trash. It's been a wonderful week as far as my son goes also. God has heard the prayers that have been offered up on his behalf by my dear Bible Study friends. If he has had anything to drink this week it had to have been very little. He looks so much better. So much more healthy. I give GOD ALL THE GLORY. He loves me and wants me to have the best. He has given me a week of peaceful trust. He is revealing His perfect goodness in my every situation. "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God." 1 John 3:1a.

My little grandson has been sick this week. I took him to his dr. Wed. had to miss a day of work. I will probably work half a day tomorrow (Saturday). I really don't want to but I don't want to use vacation time either.

Well, that's been my week. Pretty exciting huh? I'ts almost time to go home now. If my friends from the Bible Study visit leave me a comment. I'm praying for each and every one of you.

Bye for now,
Dana

Good Friday

It's Good Friday. I really think this should be a holiday. Don't you all? Today hasn't been too bad at work. There are only 2 of us in the office today so I am listening to inspirational music on my Crosswalkradio.com. I have a new candle burning and best of all my boss just left for the day!!! So I'm taking a few minutes to post. I am still trying to get my blog to link to comments I'm leaving on others. (does that make sense?) We have had some pretty major flooding in our area I had to miss work Wed. for water of the highway. Therefore, I haven't been Easter shopping and I don't see it happening. I have the grandsons a few things that I picked up at the Dollar Store last night. I'm not going to stress about such things all I want to do this Easter is rejoice and spend time with my family. I will be cooking Easter dinner for my son's. Guess what - I haven't done that shopping yet either. Not going to stress--Not going to stress. Tomorrow morning I want to try to go to the campground we camp at in the summer. My friend lost her camper in the flood. I hope to plant a seed and help her and others clean up what we can. We have an egg hunt at Church at 2:00 hope to take grandsons to that. Well I'm going to get back to work now. If you stumble across this remember -- It's Friday but Sunday's coming!!! Remember the cross, remember though our Lord's eyes filled with blood & tears he could see you and me and he finished it for us. Praise him Sunday and always!!! Happy Easter.

CHALLENGING DAY

This is my 3rd day trying to keep my nose out of the world and buried in His Word. Things were going pretty good today until....my office friend asked if I heard about the woman who sat on the toilet for 2 years. Now, I have to tell you this sparked my imagination. I did resist the temptation to check it out on MSN but could not stay out of the office discussion. That poor woman! Yesterday I blogged about fear and now I feel bad for feeling sorry for myself when I think about what a strong hold fear had on her to sit that long on the toilet. I'm going to pray that she gets the help she needs. Encouragement for Today devotional for today was part 2 on fear. Several people commented on Lysa's blog about their favorite verses concerning fear. The comments were awesome and uplifting. Again, God is soooo Good!! This little prayer was in the devotional and I Love It.

God, you are bigger than my fears and no matter what I will continue to trust You and Your perfect plan. Therefore, I make the choice to reject the paralyzing feeling of fear so I can walk confidently in the truth of Your assurance.

Bible study reading for today is Genesis chapter 24 and chapter 27. We are in a study of the women of the Bible. These chapters are about Rebekah. It is a great story. If you stumble on to this blog and think you might be interested in Bible study go to Rachel Olsen's web sight. It's real good stuff.

My work goal for today is still scattered across my whole desk. I told myself today that I was going to finish this project today. Ran into problems this a.m. and am still waiting to be called back . I'm not going to be discouraged though. I'll just do it tomorrow. I've got to have faith I'll get that call and the answers that I need so I can finish this work.
